For this week we wanted to share what goes into our products and how we get the end product. We work to buy the best quality ingredients for our wax base. All of our candles and melts have organic beeswax and organic coconut oil. We use liquid dyes to give our products the best color possible.
All of our products cure for at least 1 week to ensure a good burn. Curing allows the scent to reach its best quality and allows the wax to burn easier. All products are labeled after setting telling when their curing period is over. This helps us to keep track of inventory and give customers an idea of when certain products will be ready for sale.
Paraffin wax is made of petroleum by-product which is the waste from the production of crude oil. Candles made from this wax produce soot that will become airborne and cause damage to the lungs. Many candles made in China and other countries outside of the US are made with paraffin wax and lead wicks. The combination of these two factors can cause lung damage and other serious medical issues.
It is hard to believe that this business has been around for a whole year! We started out in a kitchen using a microwave to melt our wax and now we have a special wax melter and other equipment to help us be more efficient. We have moved into our own workshop and we are working very hard to get organized and ready to take on the next year. We are going to get into a better posting schedule and we hope to show you more of our personal lives and behind the scenes. Watch our instagram and facebook for winter collection and some other fun posts! We also have some educational blog posts planned for this month as well!
